The death of a man in Swift Current, Sask. in the early hours of Friday morning has been deemed suspicious by RCMP. Swift Current RCMP responded to a report of an injured man at a residence on 1st Avenue NW around 1:10 a.m., according to a release from Saskatchewan RCMP. The injured man, who was identified as a 29-year-old from Swift Current, was taken to hospital where he later died. RCMP said the victim’s family has been notified but are unable to provide more details about him at this time. As the man’s death is considered suspicious, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers. RCMP said there will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues, noting that they will notify the public if there is a risk to public safety.
