Two people are facing charges after Regina police’s SWAT unit responded to a firearms incident on Thursday morning.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue around 9:15 a.m. for a report that people were inside a building with a firearm, according to a release from the Regina Police Service (RPS).
Police did not say what building the incident occurred in, but multiple police cruisers could be seen parked near both the Sunrise Motel and Travelodge Suites by Wyndham in east Regina.
Officers with the SWAT team and Explosive Disposal Unit canvassed the area and took four suspects into custody shortly after 3:30 p.m., the release said.
A 34-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from Regina, are facing charges.
The 34-year-old is charged with failure to comply with conditions, six counts of possession of a firearm, possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, careless use of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, and reckless discharge of a firearm.
The 24-year-old is charged with failure to comply with conditions.
The pair made their first court appearances on Friday morning.
